Are you prepared for 2021 storm season?

At Pinpoint Property, safety is first and FOREMOST, never put yourself in danger.

It’s that time of the year again, ‘wet season’ and as much as we are unable to predict natural events or disasters, we would all like to be as prepared as possible in the event that one affects us and our homes. Mackay region has a high risk of being impacted by cyclones during the ‘wet season’ which officially runs from November 1st to May. However, a tropical cyclone could form at any time between July 1st and June 30th and would count towards the season total.

Before a storm season, we encourage tenants to:

  • Clean the yard of any loose materials which may become wind-blown hazards
  • Secure outdoor furniture and any children’s play equipment
  • Report ceiling leaks or signs of roof damage
  • Report any windows and doors which don’t close properly or are not secure

Insurances claims:

Insurance claims/repairs will take a long time. Owners will only provide a make-safe whilst they wait on approval for home repairs. After all, that’s what they pay insurance for. Please be understanding and patient if your home suffers damage this ‘wet season’. The owners insurance does not cover content insurance for your belongings. You will not be insured for damage to your possession OR temporary housing unless you have your own tenant insurance

Emergency Repairs:

If you have an emergency repair please contact the appointed contractors noted in your General Tenancy Agreement. If you suffer any roof leaks it is important to know that we cannot allocate a contractor if it is still raining, if the leak is severe you need to call the SES for Assistance. Be sure to report any maintenance, via email and remember attaching photos is a great help team@pinpointproperty.com.au
