We strongly recommend that you obtain and hold public liability insurance for the block of land that you are selling. We cannot advise you of your legal obligations and liabilities, however the reason for this insurance is to try to cover you if someone enters on your property and then hurts themselves. The properties are vacant so it is difficult to control people coming and going from the properties. If someone does hurt themselves on your land they might try and sue you as property owners. If you don’t have insurance then you would have to fight the court case at your own expense. If you lose, then you have to pay any amount ordered by the Court and possibly legal costs as well, which could be a lot of money and might put other assets of yours at risk as well.
